With the academic year on its way back round to your doorstep, students and educators alike can benefit from a proactive approach to ensure a smooth transition. Here are some strategies to help you prepare effectively:
Organise Your Materials: Organising your study materials before the first day of classes starts. Buy the required textbooks, notebooks and other essentials. Do not slack on digital organisation either – create folders for each class both in your computer and cloud storage.
Establish Your Priorities: Clarify what you want to accomplish in this year. Whether it be to get better grades, join in class more often or finally nail that tough subject; Setting goals means you are not unsure what your aim is and gives the fulfilment of having something to work towards each day.
Get to know your Timetable: Go over what subjects you have for the semester and read the syllabus given by teachers. This will help alleviate some of the anxiety and quieter more positive tone for the year ahead.
Set a Schedule: Come up with a reliable daily schedule that allows time for schoolwork, social activities and hobbies. This way you can reduce stress and improve your efficiency.
Discuss with Your Learning Community: Interact with classmates and instructors. Having these relationships can give you some emotional or scholastic to help which in my opinion makes the journey through education, more enjoyable and a lot less terrifying.
